James McAllister is an Australian visual and installation artist. His objects and installations extend further than just the aesthetics and conventions. His pieces create a cognitive resonance between the object and the wearer/visitor, with an intuitive level to his research and one which is more precisely measured.
At the VENICE INTERNATIONAL PERFORMANCE ART WEEK 2016, McAllister presents the live long durational performance and installation (utter) ORATORIO - an enquiry into the nebulous embrace of the body and the built form. Impediment #4. A strategy for the soft architecture of human transaction, a coarse osmosis in which disparate concentrations of cognition, emotion, carnality, vulnerability, transcendence etc., seek some kind of equilibrium across a semi-permeable barrier or membrane.
